About the tour

The Ijen Blue Fire tour provides an opportunity to witness the captivating sight of blue flames emanating from the crater of the Ijen volcano. A private car will pick you up in Banyuwangi and will bring you to a Riverside Homestay near Kawah Ijen were you can have a rest before you will start the hike. At 00.30, the car will pick you up again to bring you to the Paltudingpost basecamp, where your trek will start around 02.30. You will hike uphill for 3 kilometers initially, followed by a descent of 1 kilometer to reach the crater. Along the way, you can observe sulfur miners working, offering insight into the challenging lives of locals. Upon reaching the base of the volcano, you can explore the blue fire, the lake, and witness the stunning sunrise. Around 08.00, you will return to your accommodation for breakfast and packing. Afterward, a private car will bring you back to the harbour, trainstation or airport in Banyuwangi.
