Sustainability – The Happinezz Hills

Sustainability

  • Eco-Friendly Amenities

We try to avoid using single use plastic amenities . For example, our shampoo & bath soap is provided in a dispenser and for drinking water supply we use refillable glass bottles.

  • Energy-Efficient Infrastructure

We try as much as possible to use LED lighting & switch off all electricity when a hotel room is not booked. We also try to make our guests aware of turning off AC and lights when leaving the hotel room.

  • Community Engagement

We actively engage with the local community through various initiatives. From supporting educational programs to collaborating with local organizations on environmental conservation projects, we strive to give back and promote social sustainability.

  • Environmental Education

We believe in the power of education to drive positive change. Our hotel hosts workshops and activities to raise awareness about sustainability.

  • Local Sourcing

We prioritize sourcing our products and ingredients locally to reduce the environmental impact of transportation and contribute to the economic development of the community.

  • Eco-Friendly restaurant

Our restaurant offers a menu that highlights fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We strive to minimize food waste and provide reusable utensils like stainless steel straws.

  • Eco-Friendly Tours

Our eco-friendly tours include native plant planting during hikes and clear instructions not to touch corals on snorkeling and island hopping excursions to protect our underwater world. Our tour guides also frequently perform beach cleanups while guests sunbathe.

  • Waste Management

We try to emphasize waste reduction and recycling throughout our hotel.

When you stay with us, you can rest assured that your comfort and well-being align with responsible and sustainable practices. Together, we can make a difference in preserving the natural beauty of Karimunjawa and promoting a better future for generations to come. We hope that during your stay in The Happinezz Hills you will help to minimize our environmental impact as well.

Kejora Foundation

The Happinezz Hills Karimunjawa is one of the founders of Kejora Karimunjawa. This foundation is committed to educational projects for children and young adults. Kejora offers weekly art and science activities for kids ages 7-12, a bilingual preschool for kids ages 3-6 and English and Indonesian language classes for children and adults. Every saturday night you will find Kejora on Alun-Alun with a playground of bouncy castle, trampoline, facepainting and other fun activities. In addition to our time that we invest as chairman of Kejora, we make an annual contribution of our profit to the foundation.
